Say No More

October 2024 — Lang Construction is pleased to introduce a recently completed hospitality project in Olde Kensington, Philadelphia: Say No More, a bar and restaurant.

Larry Lang, LEED AP

This gut renovation of a derelict 3-story + basement building required an extensive structural overhaul of both framing and masonry, and the new addition of a 4-story stair tower.

Before • 1647 North 2nd Street, Philadelphia

Included on the interior was the installation of a 4-story elevator for convenience and compliance with ADA guidelines. Also in the scope of work was the shoring and underpinning of the entire building for the basement dig-out to achieve a new height of 9 feet.

After • 1647 North 2nd Street, Philadelphia

In addition to replacing all windows and roof, the ground floor facades were re-configured for entry doors, ramp, signage display windows, and glass block infills.

A complex and demanding project, constructed with our usual care, integrity, craftsmanship, and commitment to our clients’ needs and budget — a building salvaged and restored as part of the existing fabric of the historic urban neighborhood.
